Roberto Quijandria is in his fifth year as manager of La Estancia Alegre and the ranch’s breeding program. When he joined the ranch he brought with him his own National Champion Breeding and Gait Stallion, El Cunda (*HNS Domingo x *Regia by Picasol).

Roberto is regarded by many as one of the finest Peruvian trainers in the breed. Not only does he use traditional, Peruvian training methods, but he is constantly working to learn new and improved methods. Considered one of the top Enfrenadura trainers in both the U.S. and Peru, Roberto is unbeaten in Enfrenadura competition in the United States.

A native of Peru, Roberto grew up on Hugo Nieto Suarez’s farm where he worked with horses and trained *HNS Domingo and *HNS Aureo. He came to the U.S. when Raul del Solar purchased Domingo. Roberto’s skill and patience in training horses is international renown.

A quiet man, Roberto’s rapport with horses is phenomenal. A horse trained by Roberto Quijandria is a well trained horse. Taking his time to insure the horse’s complete understanding of what is expected of it, and thoroughly training his horses in all aspects of riding and performance, has gained his horses the reputation of being top contenders in the show ring and a pleasure on the trail.

La Estancia Alegre accepts a very limited number of horses for training each year.
